The building facade is the most fascinating aspect of a building. Whether its a family home or a high rise. It not only needs to look beautiful, but it must keep its inhabitants safe, warm and dry. It protects them from wind and rain, but at times needs to be open. It needs to let the sunlight in but keep the summer heat out. It can be robust with little maintenance but also be delicate and age gracefully with character. Its the part of is the building that every passer by can see and its a signal of its time and place. when its done well, Its there for the life of the building. If its done really well, the building will be there for life.
